 Person Centred Counselling

The Person Centred model of counselling was developed by psychologist Carl Rogers (1902-1987). It is a non-directive and non-analytical therapy and its foundations lie in the belief that the client holds the best authority on their own experiences.  Roger's theory reads that by applying the following conditions within the client/counsellor relationship, positive change will occur:

1. Unconditional Positive Regard (non judgemental & acceptance)

 2. Empathic Understanding

3. Congruence (genuiness and honesty)

Sometimes it can be difficult to be heard and understood by family and friends. Karen works with clients on an individual basis providing a safe place to be heard. The person centred approach allows the client to achieve greater self awareness and acceptance. This is turn empowers the client to make their own choices and take positive control, which ultimately leads to a better quality of life.

Your investment for counselling is £35 for a 50 minute session (reduced rate negotiable in certain circumstances.) If ,however, after a short introduction and discussion you decide that Person Centred counselling is not appropriate for you, no charge will be made.
