Reiki
Reiki is a holistic healing system from the Japanese tradition rediscovered by Mikao Usui. He named it Reiki, pronounced "Ray" "Kei" and it means Universal life giving energy.
Reiki can be applied safely across all age groups and can be used alongside conventional and complimentary treatments. It is supportive in the management of physical ailments, stress, emotional healing and can assist people in their own personal transformation. The therapist is a channel for the reiki energy and a treatment follows a sequence of hand positions. Some people do not experience anything during a reiki treatment while others may experience a sensation of heat or tingling. It is not necessary to experience anything for it to be beneficial.
Four sessions may be advised to complete the initial energy balancing if a physical or emotional imbalance is present, however, this is optional and one session can be of benefit.
You can be opened as a channel for the reiki energy through the assistance of a reiki teacher
(master). There are three levels or degrees in the traditional reiki training. Each level is complete in itself and all three levels do not have to be taken.
